Thurs 23rd - Liking the 'shorter' trips - about 250 miles today.
Left our hotel in Amarillo, Texas, and wow did the outside area stink... seriously farming territory... lots of manure (or for those of you who do not know that term, lots of sh*t).
Passed by the large cross outside Groom - Cross of the Plains along the I-40E - not sure it's big enough, seriously could they not have done better? Who was trying to prove what?
Made our way to Oklahoma City. About 100 degrees. Think we got sun burned just unloading the car. Stopped off on the way to an Indian store and got some cool stuff including arrows, drum, head-dress, pottery. Yes we are tourists ;-) It's official - Ethan has upset guts and Hannah seems to be having a bit of travel / car sickness. Bathroom stops very important, Dramamine is a blessing. Now where can we find a good steak in this place?!!?

Fab trip, and great photos. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI put it all into a Google Map, with points for your stops so far, and the last stop at the end. You've gone miles and miles - about 1750 to be exact. And the end is in sight already - only 1200 more miles if you take Google's direct route!

Thanks dee. Yes, there has been some long hours behind the wheel. Its been (mostly fun though). That said, I'm still glad we went for the shorter route. Those 500 miles days just go on and on....
