OK, its been a mental couple of days. The truck came on Wed Jun 15th 2011 - naturally lots of late nights and early mornings packing leading up to that - you would not believe the amount of boxes it took to move our lives. The guys seems pretty good and took most of a day to load the truck. All said there were 7 - a small army of strong guys.
Then it was over to Dee and Marco's house. Thank god for good friends. It's been great having a nice (kid friendly) place to stay for the last few days; and also having so much help with the kids during this crazy time. Anyways, on Thurs the carpets got cleaned and today the cleaners gave the place a good going over. The place was spotless and frankly in better shape than when we got it. Yey the landlord still whined about the lawn. I got the deposit back, thats all I cared about. He wasnt getting the keys back until I got cashiers check in hand.
This evening we had some friends around to Dee and March's place for pizza and final good-bye. Before that we had a fake birthday party for Isabella who will be 3 in August and we also celebrated our move. The kids loved it - any excuse for cake and balloons! Yippee!!
Kids are in bed now but not sleeping. We're about to get the car sorted out as it off bright and early in the morning.
Now that I'm (mostly) done wit work this will be getting updated a lot more often.
I'm tired. Looking forward to hitting the road. And ready for bed.
Goodnight
Good luck on the trip, remember, we want plenty of comments and don't forget to pack plenty of valium and mogadon - for the kids as well as for you!!
ReplyDeleteDrive safe, take care. We will be monitoring your every move.

Have a safe journey and enjoy it! What an adventure! By the time you reach Asheville you will be well chilled out, there are lots of micro breweries and a fab chocolate cafe so something for everyone to look forward too! Remember the worst part of leaving is the getting away!!
