On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again... Lynchberg - McMinnville - Knoxville

And so we were off again today, Monday 27th to Lynchberg TN to visit the Jack Daniel's Distillery. Simon loved the tour. Very cool. And of course invested in a nice bottle to add to the collection. Lynchberg is a cute little town itself, took a wander round the shops and had lunch plus Jack Daniel's ice-cream. Then we headed off to MCMINNVILLE. Small town - most things close here on a Monday apparently so after we took a few pictures we continued on the road to Knoxville, TN. Had a fun day covering about 250 miles. Had fun singing many songs with the kids in the car - the most popular song was "Who let the dogs out". If anyone saw or worse heard us signing it they'd be wondering who let us out! Kids are really doing well and seem to be enjoying the trip, seeing new things, eating out all the time, buying tourist crap, getting to new hotels and new swimming pools. They still seem to have somewhat upset tummies so imodium is being reluctantly taken every day - it's not stopping their fun though or appetites! Max is doing better too and is more settled / relaxed. Simon and I are enjoying the adventure and getting to see new things. As I eluded to earlier the novelty of hotels does ware off. It will be nice to get to our final destination in Apex, NC. Ethan every now and again asks "but how long does it take to get to North Carolina?", and "Are we there yet?".

Tomorrow we are off to Dollywood - yip, Dolly Parton's very own Great Smokey Mountain Adventure Park. Yippee!!! Sunscreen and bathing suites all the way for the 35 acre, 35 thrilling water adventure slide park. God help us! The things we do for our kids!!!

BTW we are now officially on Eastern Standard Time - 3 hours ahead of CA and 5 hours behind Ireland. Weather is more humid than CA but manageable. Kids have not mentioned any difference. People in general have been very welcoming, helpful and dog friendly along the way. We are enjoying the sweet iced tea of the south, new beers and all things deep-fried! Slainte!

Off to Jack Daniel Distillery. Simon Tucker was greatly missed as a partner in crime it has to be said!!!

Beautiful gardens on the property

All the water used to make the whiskey comes from this well on the property.

OMG it was hot today!
